Theresa Kirik-Meyers

2008 inductee

Theresa Kirik-Meyers was born and raised in Union City and was a member of the class of 1983. She attended Mercyhurst College and graduated Magna Cum Laude with a degree in Special Education in 1987. She earned her Master Degree in Administration from Central Michigan University in 1993 and will soon complete a Masters Degree in Educational Leadership from the University of North Dakota.

Mrs. Meyers started teaching special education at the Dakota Boys and Girls Ranch in Minot, N.D. in 1989 and was promoted to special education coordinator in 1993. She also taught at the Helen Keller School for the Deaf and Blind for a short time before returning to the Dakota Boys and Girls Ranch. She currently is the secondary principal and superintendent of 2 schools at the Dakota Ranch that provide education services to at-risk youth. She has received the Award of Excellence, Creativity Award, and Employee of the Year Award from the Dakota Ranch. Mrs. Meyers is also a member of the Council for Exceptional Children, North Dakota Jaycees, National Association of Secondary School Principals, and recently founded and facilitated a local community group to address youth concerns called Citizens for the Success of our Youth. Mrs. Meyers currently resides in Burlington, North Dakota.
