Amanda Daggett Post

2008 Inductee

Amanda Post was born and raised in Union City and is a graduate of the class of 1984. Amanda attended Susquehanna University from 1984-1986 and was a member of the traveling singing group "Recreation". She entertained our U.S. Troops while traveling throughout the United States. She earned her B.S. in Elementary Education from Edinboro University.

Amanda then returned to Union City as a teacher for over ten years. She taught kindergarten, third, and sixth grade during her time in Union City.

Another career Amanda is known for is her singing. Amanda continued to sing professionally for many years, performing in many musicals and solo concerts. Some of her performances include a part in "Anything Goes", the lead role in "The Best Little Whorehouse in Texas", and the lead role in "Steel Magnolias". One of her most memorable performances was at the Roadhouse Theater where she was the lead in "Forever Patsy Cline" for three months. The show was so popular it was moved to the Warner Theater for several more performances including Christmas Concerts.

Amanda has recorded 5 CD's during her time as a singer. In 2001, Amanda was approached by WICU-12, our local NBC affiliate to join their broadcast team. After much debate, Amanda began her new journey and has been there ever since. You can see her each weekday evening as she brings us the latest news from our area. She currently resides in Erie with her husband Troy and son Wyatt.
