Ronald Hamrick

2020/2021 Inductee

Ronald Hamrick is a graduate of Union City High and was the Outstanding Male Athlete of his graduating class. During his time at Union City, Ronald participated in Football, Wrestling, Baseball, and Track and Field. He was a two-time All-Conference selection in football, and an All-County and Section Wrestling Champion.

After graduation Ronald, attended Edinboro University of Pennsylvania. He was a highly decorated Wrestler while attending Edinboro. He wrestled all four years of college and served as the wrestling team captain for two years. He was a two-time PSAC place winner, two-time Eastern Regional place winner, and a two-time National Division II Qualifier. Ronald also received the Sox Harrison Award, being recognized as the Most Outstanding Male Athlete.

Ronald then began his professional career in education at Collingswood High School, New Jersey. While at Collingswood he became the school’s head wrestling coach, developing the program into one of the most successful teams in the entire state of New Jersey. During his time as head coach, Ronald had 22 winning season, sixty-eight District Champions, Fourteen Region Champions, and two State Champions.

His team captured two Colonial Conference Titles, two Sectional Titles, and three District Titles. His success with his team garnered many accolades such as being named District Coach of the Year five times, Region Coach of the Year three times, and being selected to both South Jersey Wrestling Hall of Fame and the South Jersey Coaches Hall of Fame.
