Justin Clickett

2013 Inductee

Justin Clickett is a 2003 graduate of Union City High School. Justin is one of the most decorated athletes to ever walk the halls of Union City. During his high school career Justin's hard work and dedication led to several accolades and accomplishments. He was an All-State medalist after placing 3rd his junior year in the Shot Put. As amazing as that accomplishment was, for Justin, it was not good enough. He trained tirelessly and set a goal to become state champion. His senior year he dominated his competition and became one of the top shot put throwers in the United States. He was a spectacle at each and every track meet, drawing in spectators from all areas to watch him throw. In May of 2003, Justin's goal became reality when he was crowned the PIAA State Champion in the Shot Put with a throw of 64'3". That throw also established a new PIAA State Record in the shot put. Justin followed up that amazing performance the next day with a thrilling victory in the Discus, making him a PIAA Champion again. His accomplishments for the 2003 PIAA State Championships earned his the PIAA State Outstanding Male Field Athlete for 2003.

After graduation Justin attended the University of Pittsburgh. Justin continued his dominance while at Pitt. He was a two-time Big East Shot Put Champion and All-Big East in the Discus and Weight Throw. He was also an NCAA All-American in the Shot Put, was crowned Big East Field MVP, a Junior National Runner-Up in the shot put and a World Junior Finalist in the shot put. Justin still holds the school record in the Shot Put at the University of Pittsburgh.

Justin transferred to Virginia Tech and was an NCAA All-American three times in the shot put. He was an ACC Champion and East Regional Champion in the shot put. He was also named an All-American in the Discus and Weight Throw. He is the indoor track and field record holder for the shot put and was named the team MVP of Virginia Tech's track team twice.

Currently Justin is training for the 2016 Rio Olympic Games to represent the United States in the shot put.
