Mark Webb

Mark Webb has been a successful businessman and contributor to the Union City community for several years. He is a 1973 graduate of Penn State University with a degree in Forest Management. He started his career in forestry management in 1973 with the Blanchard Lumber Company in Wayne, New Jersey. He then worked for the Fisher & Young Lumber Company in Titusville and the Senior Forest and Land Manager from 1974-1980. He served as a Forest Consultant and was a partner in the Nagy & Webb Forestry Company from 1981-1993 before starting his own business as Consulting Forester of the Mark R. Webb Company which he still operates today. Mark is a member of the Society of American Foresters, Association of American Foresters, Pennsylvania Council of Professional Foresters, and a Certified Inspector for the American Tree Farm.

Mark's success in the field of Forestry has earned him several accolades including: Fellow – Society of American Foresters in 1999, Penn State School of Forest Resources Alumni of the Year in 2004, and Centennial Fellow – Penn State University Mont Alto Campus in 2004. Mark has also served professionally on several committees on both state and national levels in the forestry field in various capacities. He has served in the Society of American Foresters, Association of Consulting Foresters, Pennsylvania Council of Professional Foresters, Penn State Forest Issues Working Group, Timber Harvest Assessment Advisory Team, and is a past President of the Penn State School of Forest Resources Alumni Society. Mark's work in the forestry field has been featured in Forbes Magazine and the Case Study for Sustainable Forestry by the MacArthur Foundation. His name has also appeared in a front page article of the Wall Street Journal. In 2007, as part of the 100 year anniversary of the Penn State School of Forest Resources, Mark was identified as one of the school's “exemplary and outstanding graduates in Henry Gerhold's book entitled “A century of Forest resources Education at Penn State”.

Mark is also an active member of the Union City Community. He is a founding member of the Union City Community Foundation, has been active in the Union City Lion's Club for over 25 years, a member of the 6:20 Associates, served as a trustee of the Union City Memorial Hospital, the Corry Hospital and is currently serving as Trustee and Chairman of the Finance Committee of the St. Vincent Health System Center. Mark's contribution to the Union City community have also earned him the prestigious honors of the "I Believe Award" in 2009 for outstanding service to the Union City Community and the 2003 Union City Citizen of the Year. Mark still resides in the Union City Area and continues to operate his successful business while contributing his time and efforts to help make Union City a great place to live.
