Marian Behan

2009 Inductee

Marian Behan was a 1938 graduate of Union City High School. Marian served a fulfilling life of caring, love for God, and wanting to make Union City a better place for everyone. Her love and concern for other community members touched the lives of many people. She served and participated in several local organizations. She drove trucks in San Francisco during World War II. She was president of the United Methodist Women, and volunteered for the Salvation Army until 2007. During that time she participated in the holiday Kettle Drive for several years. Marian was also a member of the Union City Food Pantry and involved in the Union City Ministerium. Marian was an original member of the Union City Alumni Association and served on the committee until her death in 2008. Marian also participated with her husband Paul in numerous local food distribution programs in the community. Marian worked in the Union City Schools cafeteria as a cashier and food prep server. Marian and her husband, Paul, were both recognized as Union City's Citizen of the Year in 1980.community that he loved.
